The movie "Deliver Us From Eva" compares to "The Taming of the Shrew", in both stories a young woman is being courted out because of her sister(s) and the men that want her. The characters Eva and Katharina are both mean women, with attitudes that would scare anyone. Lies are the base of each story, both women are tricked into loving someone.
"The Taming of the Shrew" displays the deception and willingness to do anything to get what a person desire, Hortensio was willing to pay to Petruchio money to married and "tam" Katharina, in order to wed her baby sister Bianca. Many man are after the young girl and they all go about "getting" her by lying to her. In "Deliver Us From Eva", Eva's sisters husbands/boyfriend paid Ray to get her out of their life by dating her. Petruchio and Ray were set out to do the same thing, they wanted to tam Katherine and Eva. Ray wanted to get Eva to move away from her family so the men could live happily, but his heart couldn't let him do that to her. He stared to love her and she was beginning to love him to, Katharina in the end of the play adjust to the way Lucentio wanted her to act, where Eva continued to be herself.

Once Eva and Ray's relationship takes off, Eva's sister began to compare their relationships with Eva and Ray's.
Ray was falling so in love with Eva that he just had to tell her, when Petruchio never plan to tell his once shrew wife that he was asked to marry and tam her. Katharina and Eva who were once just alike become absolutely different, Katharina lost who she was; "Then God be blest it [is] the blessed sun......"The Taming of the Shrew" Act4 Scene5, Although Katharina don't believe what she was say, she agreed to it because she was told to believe, where Eva was able to still form her own opinions.
When Ray wanted to tell Eva about the money and deal the men locked him up, using more lies to cover up their first one, telling Eva and their girls that Ray was died, this don't happened in The Taming of the Shrew, because Petruchio wasn't going to tell Katharina the truth. When Eva did find out she was heart broken, she felt she fell for a lie, she told him that he stole her chose to love him. Eva kept her old "bad girl" attitude till the very end unlike Katharina. Although at the end Eva still chose to be with Ray, this time it was HER CHOSE and not her brother-in-laws or Ray's, it was her decision. Where Katharina was never given one.
